Display/Hide GPS Shift+2
Display/Hide Animation Manager Shift+3
Before Starting
Call up Animation Manager
Place Wheel Chocks
Ensure tie downs and Pitot cover are off
Battery and radios OFF
Startup
Magnetos OFF
Fuel Cutoff OFF
Throttle CLOSED
Set Throttle to nearly closed
'Contact'. Set front (left) magneto to ON (up)
Switch to front on VC view
Grab prop and pull down (prop will spin clockwise)
Both Magnetos ON
Warm Up
Engine idle 600-700 rpm
Set altimeter
Oil Pressure 35lbs/sq in
Lock Auto Slots for taxying
Check Fuel
Check flight controls
Running Up
Parking brake or wheel chocks ON
Hold stick back
Throttle 1600rpm and test magentos independently (drop in RPM should not exceed 100rpm)
Throttle back to idle of 600-700 rpm
Taxying
Ensure wheel chocks removed and parking brake off
Auto Slots locked
Take Off
Elevator trim neutral
Auto Slots unloacked
Full throttle for takeoff and initial climb. After 200-300ft reduce to climp power.
Climbing
Climb speed is 60kts at 2100rpm
Cruising
65-70kts at 1950rpm.
Windmill Start
If, for whatever reason the engine stops and the prop stops rotating while in the air you can restart the engine by performing a windmill start.
Ensure you have sufficient altitude
Nose down into a dive
Magnetos ON
Fuel Cutoff ON (pushed in)
At around 110kts the engine should restart
Pull out of dive
Aerobatics
Ensure auto slots are locked for aerobatics. Aircraft will spin and side slip.
Descending
60kts at 1100-1200 rpm will yield a descent rate of 500fpm
Approach and Landing
Auto slots unlocked
Approach at 58kts
Cross fence at 50kts
Touchdown at 35-40kts for a perfect three point landing
Stopping the Engine
You cannot use the mixture control to cutoff the engine
Switch off both magnetos
As prop slows advance Throttle to fully open
Close Throttle when stopped
Fuel Cutoff OFF
Use Animation Manager to place wheel chocks ,pitot covers and tiedowns as well as remove pilot and passenger.
